TAKE YOUR ACTING TO THE NEXT LEVEL
This February Break, join Professional Youth Theatre for an intensive designed specifically for young actors who want to develop their skills in straight plays—where the focus is on character, text, relationships, storytelling, and the art of acting without relying on musical numbers.
Students in Elementary School, Middle School, and High School will be grouped according to age and ability, allowing each actor to work at an appropriate level while being challenged and supported throughout the week.
The intensive will combine daily acting technique training with hands-on rehearsal, culminating in a Short Play Festival featuring the students' work!
WHAT TO EXPECT
1 hour of daily acting technique with PYT faculty—experience instructors who have performed professionally
3 hours of daily rehearsals for our Short Play Festival which will take place at the end of the intensive

THE SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL
After four days of intensive training and rehearsal, students will take the stage for a special Short Play Festival featuring the plays they have prepared throughout the intensive. All performing students will receive two complimentary tickets. Additional tickets will be $10 for guests. The Short Play Festival is the perfect opportunity for students to put their new skills into action and experience the excitement of performing a straight play in front of a live audience.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Elementary School • Middle School • High School
Students will be placed into rehearsal groups based on age and ability so that each group can work on material that is appropriately challenging and engaging. Whether your child is an experienced performer or brand new to the stage, this intensive provides a customized environment for each young actor.

EARLY CARE / AFTER CARE FOR WORKING PARENTS
Are you working during February break and need childcare before and after the intensive? No problem! The PYT babysitters are ready to help. Available as early as 8 AM and as late as 6 PM, you can customize your childcare schedule and drop your children off / pick them up at a time that works for you. Babysitting is available at $17 per hour and can be utilized as needed or everyday. Once you sign up for the intensive, you will have the option to sign up for early care and after care after January 1st.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
In order for us to properly plan for the intensive, students must be registered no later than January 31, 2027.
