PYT’s 2026 Spring Musicals

If your child is involved with one of our Spring Musicals, this page is for you! Please scroll down to read more about our productions of Descendants (elementary/middle), A Chorus Line (grades 5-8), and Sweeney Todd (high school).

Descendants

  • Eligibility: Students in elementary and middle school currently enrolled in acting or vocal classes at PYT or dance classes at our sister program, The Dance Loft.

  • Participation fee and costumes/script: $175/month (billed from February through June); costume fees will be billed separately, but parents will fundraise to cover costs to keep costume costs minimal. An additional $25 script fee is charged by Music Theater International, but students are permitted to keep their scripts and write in them.

  • Auditions/Callbacks: Auditions and callbacks have been completed at this time, but if your child would like to join us please email proyouththeatre@gmail.com as there may be principal and ensemble roles available.  

  • Rehearsals: Our Youth (ages 6-9) will rehearse on Sundays from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and our Juniors (ages 9-14) will rehearse on Sundays from 12:00-3:00 PM. Rehearsals may be extended until 4:00 PM as needed for some of the larger parts. Students will have off for holiday/vacation closures. Additional rehearsals may be called as needed, but we will always work around a student’s availability. Rehearsals run from February through May. Mandatory technical rehearsals will be held throughout the month of May (students will not be called everyday and we will work around student conflicts).

  • Tentative Performance Schedule: Tentative performances will be held from Tuesday, May 26th through Friday, May 29th. Exact performance dates will be determined once we assess student availability during this very busy time of year, and additional dates may be added. All performance dates will be set no later than April 1st.

  • Tickets: $30 (ages 14+) / $25 (ages 13 and under) - cash only. Online ticket reservations will open two weeks prior to our performances.

A Chorus Line

  • Eligibility: Students in grades 5-8 currently enrolled in acting or vocal classes at PYT or dance classes at our sister program, The Dance Loft. ***Technical dance training/experience is highly recommended.*** Please note that this is the “teen edition” of A Chorus Line which removes inappropriate adult content.

  • Participation fee and costumes/script: $175/month (billed from February through June); costume fees will be billed separately, but parents will fundraise to cover costs to keep costume costs minimal. An additional $25 script fee is charged by Concord Theatricals, but students are permitted to keep their scripts and write in them.

  • Auditions/Callbacks: Auditions and callbacks have been completed at this time, but if your child would like to join us please email proyouththeatre@gmail.com as there may be principal and ensemble roles available.

  • Rehearsals: Sundays, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (rehearsals may be extended until 4:00 PM as needed). Students will have off for holiday/vacation closings. Additional rehearsals may be called as needed, but we will always work around a student’s availability. Rehearsals run from February through June. Mandatory technical rehearsals will be held (tentatively) from June 15th through June 18th, but additional mandatory rehearsals may be called earlier in the season, as well.

  • Tentative Performance Schedule: Tentative performances will be held from Friday, June 19th through Wednesday, June 24th. Exact performance dates will be determined once we assess student availability during this very busy time of year.

  • Tickets: $30 (ages 14+) / $25 (ages 13 and under) - cash only. Online ticket reservations will open two weeks prior to our performances.

Sweeney Todd

  • Eligibility:  High school students currently enrolled in acting or vocal classes at PYT or dance classes at our sister program, The Dance Loft.  

  • Auditions/Callbacks: Auditions and callbacks have been completed at this time, but if your child would like to join us please email proyouththeatre@gmail.com as there may be ensemble roles available.

  • Participation fee and costumes/script: $175/month (billed from February through June); costume fees will be billed separately, but parents will fundraise to cover costs to keep costume costs minimal. An additional $25 script fee is charged by Music Theatre International, but students are permitted to keep their scripts and write in them.

  • Rehearsals: Required weekly rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1:45-5:00 or 5:30 PM. Additional rehearsals will be called as needed on Saturdays, but we will work around student availability.

  • Tentative Performance Dates:
    Friday, 6/5 @ 6:00 PM
    Sunday, 6/7 @ 7:00 PM
    Wednesday, 6/10 @ 6:30 PM
    Sunday, 6/14 @ 2:00 PM and @ 7:00 PM
    Monday, 6/15 @ 7:00 PM
    (Performances will be added/changed as needed and performer conflicts will be taken into consideration)
