Upcoming Auditions

Eligibility:  High school students currently enrolled in acting, vocal, or dance classes through PYT. 

Audition dates: Saturday, 1/17 @ 4:00 PM OR Sunday, 1/18 @ 6:00 PM. Additional audition times will be added by request if a student is unable to attend the above dates. Please email proyouththeatre@gmail.com to request an alternative audition date.

Callbacks: Saturday, 1/24 @ 4:00 PM. Additional callback times will be added by request if a student is unable to attend the above date. Please email proyouththeatre@gmail.com to request an alternative callback date.

Rehearsals: Commencing in mid-February. Required weekly rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1:45-5:00 or 5:30 PM. Additional rehearsals will be called as needed on Saturdays, but we will work around student availability.

Tentative Performance Dates:
Friday, 6/5 @ 6:00 PM
Sunday, 6/7 @ 7:00 PM
Wednesday, 6/10 @ 6:30 PM
Sunday, 6/14 @ 2:00 PM and @ 7:00 PM
Monday, 6/15 @ 7:00 PM
(Performances will be added/changed as needed and performer conflicts will be taken into consideration)

Audition Preparation: For your initial audition, please sing a cut of musical theatre song in the style of the show. The cut should be between one and two minutes. Please use a track (Youtube) or bring clearly-marked sheet music.

Callback Preparation: ***FOR THIS AUDITION PROCESS, WE WILL NOT BE ASSIGNING ROLES FOR CALLBACKS.***  Instead, please select TWO roles for which you would like to read. We are considering gender bending any role and, in fact, encourage you to call yourself back for whatever role fits you best, regardless of gender. Casting and Feedback:  Our artistic staff will be filling out feedback forms for each student during the audition process. After casting concludes, students will be emailed their final feedback in the areas of singing and acting. We hope that this will help our students understand their strengths and where we see areas for growth. Casting will be announced via email on Monday, 2/9 at 4:00 PM.  

***IMPORTANT: Your callback selections do NOT guarantee casting in any particular role. We promise to CONSIDER you for the roles for which you call yourself back.***
